You are probably wondering how VoIP works. Well the concept is simple; instead of your voice being transferred through tangible telephone lines, they are sent back and forth through wireless internet waves.
The reason long distance telephone calls cost so much is because the phone companies have to pay for the constant maintenance and upkeep on their phone lines and infrastructure that you or I are using.
